Terms & Conditions

Guidelines have been updated in 2024.

QUOTATION

All quotations are subject to site measure and are valid for 30 days. Extensions to this period may be available upon request. We do our best to honour the lead times we offer however they are a guide only. We will not be held liable if that time is exceeded and no refunds will be offered.
Once payment has been received, all product specifications on our quote are final – changes to an order cannot be made at this point.
Until paid for in full, products remain the property of Window Art.

CANCELLATION

Changes of mind happen however if an order is cancelled, any deposit made will not be refunded. If an order was fully manufactured before notice of cancellation, full and final payment will still be payable within 10 working days.

INSTALLATION/SHIPPING/PICK UP

Unless otherwise arranged, any outstanding balance is required to be paid before installation, delivery or pickup of our products. Payment or proof of payment (screenshot) must be received by us to make a booking or organise shipping/pickup.
Where the option to ship or pick up an order is chosen, we will use measurements provided by the customer to manufacture the order. It is the sole responsibility of the customer to ensure correct and accurate measurements are given as well as details of how the blinds will be mounted.
We make sure to pack orders well however once they have left our workshop we will not be held responsible for any damage or loss that could occur during transit. A tracking number will be provided so you can check on the progress of your order via our preferred courier’s website.
The customer agrees to provide clear and safe access to all areas of their property required by us so we can successfully measure for and install our products. We will not be responsible for any damage to property resulting from insufficient space being cleared.
Prior to installation of our products, any existing window furnishings must be removed and disposed of by the customer. If agreed upon in advance, removal and disposal of existing furnishings may be undertaken by us at extra cost.
All our furnishings will be installed in accord with our regular procedures and practices. Any alternate customer preferences must be discussed prior to the manufacture of our products.
It is the customer’s responsibility to be present at the installation and at this time any issues with the installation must be raised with the installer. An additional cost may be charged if we have to revisit the property to rectify any matter.

CHILD SAFETY

Because corded blinds pose a serious risk to young children, we strongly recommend taking all safety precautions possible as outlined on the website for the Ministry of Business Innovation & Employment (https://www.productsafety.govt.nz/for-consumers/keeping-kids-safe/blinds-and-window-shades-with-cords).
We will provide/install safety devices for our products at the customer’s request however it is the sole responsibility of the customer to implement and follow the above guidelines.

WARRANTIES

We offer a complete 2 year manufacturer warranty on all our products. Our warranty comes into effect from the date of full payment on our invoice by the customer and is non-transferable.

Any claim must be made via email as soon possible from the discovery of a defect along with proof of purchase and photos. Defective products must be brought to our workshop for repair.
After our warranty has expired, an extra fee will be payable if collection and reinstallation of our products is requested.

LIMITATIONS & EXCLUSIONS

WARRANTIES

The warranties we offer are limited to the repair or replacement (at our discretion) of defective
materials and components of our products only and do not cover the following situations:

  • Misuse of or accidental damage to our products.
  • Where modifications or repairs have been carried out by the customer or another party instead of Window Art Ltd.
  • Normal wear and tear or natural colour changes of materials that take place over time.
  • Damage caused by natural elements ie. sun, wind or rain.
  • Deterioration caused by strong or corrosive elements ie. Chemicals, insects, salt water or air
  • Damage caused by a poorly ventilated environment ie. development of mould due to moisture, condensation or humidity

Once a defect is apparent, the customer must stop using our product and notify us that they are making a claim. If the customer continues to use the product causing further damage, repairs will be at the customer’s cost.
Only defective products only will be repaired or replaced under warranty. Differences in material batches may mean there is a slight variation in the colour of the fabric or components on the repaired product compared to the rest of the original order.

PRODUCTS/INSTALLATION

Severability

Supply of our products is subject to the availability of materials. The colours and weave of our
fabrics can vary slightly between samples shown in our workshop and the final order.
Variations in shape, texture and grain are possible with wooden products.
Aluminium can expand and contract due to heat and cold. On our roller and sunscreen products this can cause the fabric to look wavy at times or pucker along the width of the bottom rail.
With roller and sunscreen blind fabrics, a ‘v-ing’ effect can be visible, especially on large blinds.

Side light gaps are unavoidable with all roller products that are installed inside the frame as the overall width of the blind will always be wider than fabric width.
We take no responsibility for ill-fitting products if a customer’s window/door frames are not square.
We will not be responsible for product failure where installation was carried out incorrectly by the customer.

Thank you!
